n May 29, 2026, at the Asawin Grand Convention Hotel, the Thailand Environment Institute (TEI) held its 33rd Anniversary Academic Seminar under the theme “Global Environment, Thai Environment: Adapt to Live, Learn to Survive.” The event served as a platform for exchanging knowledge, discussing policy directions, and exploring solutions to three major global environmental crises that pose significant challenges to Thailand: climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. The seminar also featured an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding special reports on global environmental crises, honoring journalists who have effectively and powerfully communicated these critical issues to the public.

Mono29 received the First Runner-Up Award for its special report titled “2026: The Year of Earth’s Reset? When ‘Global Boiling’ Is No Longer Just a Warning.” The award was accepted by Nonthakrit Klomklorm, Mono29 News Anchor, and Charintra Kongiad, Content Creator, on behalf of the team. The award was presented by Dr. Piyasvasti Amranand, Chairman of the Thailand Environment Institute Foundation.

The award-winning feature report examines how 2026 recorded the highest global temperatures in 177 years, signaling what many experts describe as the final warning during the transition from global warming to global boiling. The report highlights the severe consequences for Thailand, which is facing a simultaneous triple threat of extreme heat, air pollution, and drought. According to the report, these extreme climate conditions are expected to continue through 2027, creating impacts that extend far beyond public health concerns.

The feature also reveals how the crisis is disrupting Thailand’s agricultural sector and causing economic losses estimated at more than 80 billion baht annually. Despite the growing severity of the situation, effective government measures to address and mitigate these impacts have yet to be fully implemented.

Mono Group welcomed first-year students from the Faculty of Communication Arts at Dhurakij Pundit University and students from the GIFT Program of Thung Song School, Nakhon Si Thammarat, who participated in an English Excursion activity to gain hands-on experience in the media industry. The study visit took place at Mono Studio, Nonthaburi, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. On this occasion, Ms. Nanthaphan Sangchai, Assistant Station Director, warmly welcomed the participants and provided an overview of Mono Group, including the station’s news operations under the regulations of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), particularly in the production of business news.

The station’s news team, including Mr. Nonthakrit Klomklorm, News Anchor and Executive Editor; Mr. Supawich Nakriang, Head of News Editorial; and Ms. Tawanrung Parisuttidham, News Anchor, also shared their knowledge and experience on the news production process. Topics included research and fact-checking, program structure, the background of news programs aired on MONO29, the differences between producing news for On Air and online platforms, as well as the ethics and responsibilities of news producers.

Participants were also given a behind-the-scenes tour of the newsroom and observed the live program production process up close. The activity was held in two sessions: the morning session for students from Dhurakij Pundit University and the afternoon session for students from Thung Song School.

The items are intended for frontline soldiers bravely defending the nation’s sovereignty along the Thai border. The delegation also visited and offered support to wounded soldiers at Suranaree Camp Hospital on August 5, 2025.

The donation—comprising consumer goods and cash—was delivered directly from Stadium 29 to Suranaree Camp in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, to be distributed by the 2nd Army Region to border units in need. The donation ceremony was led by: Ms. Nedpanit Potarakul – Chief Program Officer and Director of Mono29 TV Station, Mr. Pongpat Wachirabunjong, Ms. Nanthaphan Sangchai – Assistant Director of Mono29 TV Station, Mr. Nonthakrit Klomklorm – Editor-in-Chief, News Division They presented the donation to Lieutenant General Boonsin Phadklang, Commander of the 2nd Army Region.

Ms. Nedpanit and Mr. Pongpat expressed gratitude to the army commander for the opportunity to contribute. They emphasized that this act of support reflects the role of Thai civilians standing behind the armed forces and reinforcing the morale of soldiers at the frontlines. In return, Lt. Gen. Boonsin expressed appreciation for the public’s generosity, noting that the donated items and funds would be distributed to both active soldiers along the border and those who have been injured in combat.

Following the ceremony, Ms. Nedpanit, Mr. Pongpat, and their team visited wounded soldiers at Suranaree Camp Hospital, who had been injured in recent skirmishes near the Thai-Cambodian border. They provided financial support and words of encouragement, engaging directly with the soldiers and their families.

Major General Narong Phakdeesuphapol, Chief Medical Officer of the 2nd Army Region and Director of the Hospital, stated that 34 soldiers are currently undergoing treatment. Some have recovered and returned to duty at the border immediately.
