MONO29 Joins National Media Network to Elevate Real-Time Reporting of the 2026 General Election

MONO29 has joined a major collaborative initiative led by the Digital Television Broadcasting Association (Thailand), the Online News Producers Association, the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT), Thai PBS, and a broad network of partners from the public sector, private sector, and civil society. The collaboration aims to prepare for real-time reporting of the 2026 General Election and National Referendum, scheduled for 8 February 2026.

A press conference announcing the cooperation was held on 7 January 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Convention Hall, Building D, Thai PBS Headquarters on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Bangkok. Ms. Nanthaphan Sangchai, Assistant Director, and Ms. Tawanrung Parisuttidham, news anchor from MONO29, attended the event as representatives of the station. The initiative is driven by a shared goal to deliver fast, accurate, and transparent election results. Immediately after polling stations close at 5:00 p.m., the real-time reporting system will be activated through a nationwide network of more than 10,000 volunteers, coordinated by the Thai PBS Citizen Journalism Team in collaboration with VOTE62, with additional support from students and faculty members of Thammasat University.

The project further enhances reporting standards by enabling direct data connectivity with the Election Commission of Thailand, supported by a national-level data processing system. This ensures that media organizations across all platforms receive the same unified dataset, allowing for comprehensive and consistent unofficial election result reporting until the vote count is fully completed.

In addition, the project invites public participation through the recruitment of “Election Result Reporting Volunteers”, encouraging citizens to take part in strengthening transparency and public trust in the electoral process.
